Rules of Conduct

Policy:
Church’s values all employees and is committed to resolve any conduct or performance issues that arise in the most positive and constructive manner possible. However, under circumstances when disciplinary action, including termination, becomes necessary to correct undesirable situations or behaviours, Church’s has established certain guidelines and procedures that should be followed. Since conditions of human resources are unpredictable, Churches has not provide an all-inclusive list. Any illustration absent from this list does not mean it is acceptable and counselling and/or disciplinary action may be taken when Church’s believes such action is warranted. The following are examples of unacceptable behaviour that justify specific reasons for initiating counseling or disciplinary action, up to and including termination.
  • Use of obscene or abusive language either verbal, through phone calls or electronic devices.
  • Excessive absenteeism and tardiness, regardless of reason, which disrupts or diminishes operational effectiveness.
  • Threats or acts of violence towards any other employee, franchise partner, supplier and/or customer.
  • Disrespectful treatment of Franchise partners, employees, peers, and/or vendors
  • Failure to carry out a direct request from a manager, except where you feel safety or business ethics may reasonably be jeopardized by the request
  • Personal use of Cell Phones which interferes with job responsibilities such as texting, picture or video messaging, checking social media...etc.
  • Retaliation against any employee who files a legitimate complaint
  • Inefficiency, incompetence or negligence in the performance of duties, including failure to meet role expectations, or to complete work assignments
  • Refusal to accept a reasonable and proper assignment from an authorized Manager
  • Interference with another employees performance of job duties
  • Disruption of workflow
  • Violation of dress, personal appearance, grooming and/ot personal hygiene requirements
  • Closing of a restaurant or portion of the restaurant without prior approval from either Market Leader or Director of Operations or VP of Operations
  • Physical altercations on Company property
  • Unauthorized possession of company property or property of a fellow employee
  • Willful destruction of Company property or the property of a fellow employee
  • Deliberate misuse of Company supplies, materials, machines or equipment
  • Alteration or falsification of Company records, application forms or time keeping records
  • Knowingly removing or destroying information related to work records or reports
  • Unauthorized release of confidential information or official records
  • Theft of any form or failure to report knowledge of theft or fraudulent behaviour
    • Failure to pay for employees food
    • Failure to adhere to the employee food policy
    • Providing unpaid food to family, friends or fellow employees
  • Illegal gambling or bookmaking on Company property
  • Possession of firearms or weapons of any kind on company property
  • Refusal or inability to improve job performance in accordance with the performance counselling, verbal/written improvement plan
  • Reporting to work intoxicated due to Alcohol or drugs
  • Any act of conduct that is discriminating or harassing in nature towards another persons race, colour, religion, national origin, age, disability, sex or any other basis protected by law
  • Negligence or purposeful disregard to safety and security practices that endanger the welfare of other employees or people around you
  • Hiring an employee under the age of 15
  • Instructing a non-supervisory employee to make bank deposits
  • Failure to make required bank deposits during the day without direct supervisor’s approval
  • Allowing individuals inside the restaurant after/before dining area operating hours
  • Allowing unauthorized person on Company premises
  • Exceeding the authorized number or length of breaks
  • Opening the store late or / closing the restaurant early without direct supervisor’s approval
  • Giving keys to unauthorized individuals
  • Giving the alarm code to unauthorized individuals
  • Giving the safe code to unauthorized employees
  • Failure to return to work from a leave of absence on the agreed upon day
  • Borrowing cash from the register
  • Leaving the pick up window unlocked when not attended by an employee
  • Leaving cash register keys in the cash drawer or POS
